Anxious Patients
We realise that some patients are particularly nervous of the dental environment. Bearing this in mind we offer a calm, friendly approach from our nurses who are specifically trained in the care of nervous patients. In addition we have the facility to allow all treatment to be carried out under intra-venous sedation. For this purpose we use the services of experienced, dedicated professional anaesthetists. All advice regarding pre- and post- treatment management will be given at consultation. A critical aspect of such discussions will be the regulatory requirement for a chaperone to accompany a patient from the conclusion of any such treatment.
Our practice complies with the Standing Dental Advisory Committee on the safe use of sedation in dentistry. All our staff are proficient in life support skills, carrying out regular re-training.
